The perfect platform for exchange and authentic product experiences
17 Mar 2022
Be it dealers or manufacturers, manufacturers of motorbikes or accessories, classics or newcomers: as the only place for lively exchanges and real product experiences, INTERMOT is the most important industry event for all fans and players in the bike biz. No wonder many exhibitors already marked its date from 4 to 9 October as a must-go event.
"Celebrating motorbikes together at INTERMOT".
Michael Sommer, Head of BMW Motorrad Germany, BMW Group:
"As a German motorbike manufacturer with a long tradition, the entire team at BMW Motorrad Deutschland is always very interested in being able to showcase our brand and products to the visitors of INTERMOT - especially alongside a strong INTERMOT trade fair partner in the all-important German market. For this reason, we very much look forward to once again being able to engage in personal contact with our customers and motorbike fans at INTERMOT 2022 and to celebrating motorcycling together."
“INTERMOT is a unique marketing channel”:
Alber Erlacher, Manager Energy Department at Honda Deutschland GmbH:
2022, like 2021, will be a very strong year for motorbikes. We as well as our partners assume that the high demand for motorbikes will continue.
With the introduction of new models at INTERMOT and the expansion of 125cc sales, attractive accessory offers and the support of the Honda Bank, we want to further increase our market share. Honda strives to be a company that is accepted and respected in society. We are driving initiatives to make people's lives easier. And we see great potential in the world of young 125cc riders and are pursuing new unconventional ways to grow steadily.
Two-wheeled mobility is a strategic resource for a society that can help overcome the fragmentation in the Corona pandemic and address today's global challenges. The two-wheeler is a potentially sustainable solution to current issues such as lack of parking space, urban traffic density, emissions, and fuel consumption. Motorbikes are less polluting, both in production and fuel. In the next three years, we want to lay the foundation for the new "2-wheeler society" together with our retail partners. New models, customer loyalty and the B196 driving license reform will help us achieve this goal.
The use of new communication platforms has increased significantly in the wake of the COVID-19 crisis. The long-overdue digitalisation enables us to be much more visible and to address our customers worldwide in a targeted manner. Of course, the question arises whether we as manufacturers or our customers still need the concept of a trade fair at all. But a trade fair is a unique marketing channel that cannot be replicated in the digital world (yet). However, with regard to virtual worlds, we will see changes here as well. At the moment, digitalisation and limited contact cannot replace the close personal relationship with our retail partners and customers that we normally maintain during trade fair visits and events. In addition, trade fairs are also visited by trade visitors and journalists, who ensure that word of our news gets out thanks to their up-to-the-minute reporting."

“Digital platforms are no substitute for the live experience.”
Natalie Kavafyan, Managing Director Triumph Motorrad Deutschland GmbH:
"Triumph has a strong emotional connection to INTERMOT, because it's the very place where the Triumph brand was reborn in September 1990.
INTERMOT is an important platform for us on which we can show our range of models to our customers in person. Needless to say, we also used digital platforms to present new models during the pandemic. However, with an emotional and technically highly complex product, this can never replace the live experience a customer has when they talk to one of our team members in person and can touch and test-seat our vehicles.
That is why we look forward even more to being live in Cologne again after 3 years and being able to showcase our current and upcoming models there."
"The digital world has to be brought back into the real one."
Motorbike manufacturer and importer KSR Group GmbH:
"We are one of the leading importers of two-wheeled vehicles in Europe. In addition, we have also successfully established ourselves, especially in recent years, as a manufacturer of Motron and Brixton Motorcycles, Lambretta and Malaguti. The import brands Royal Enfield, CFMOTO and NIU also play an important role in our portfolio. For both of these, INTERMOT has always been a fixed point in the calendar for us. Accordingly, the restrictions due to the pandemic were a shock at first. Naturally, we also shifted many things into the digital sphere. To name just one example, we had to think about press events in a completely different way. The new competencies that we developed in the process, originally out of necessity, are invaluable to us today. And that makes us proud.
But still: INTERMOT is here to stay, and it's definitely highlighted in our 2022 calendar! Especially in the motorbike industry, direct, personal exchange on-site is important. This is not an adherence to an old, romantic principle. It is simply what the industry wants and needs after more than two years. The digital world must return to the real one. And we have to go back to Cologne.“
"What makes our e-motorcycles stand out is something you have to experience live."
Ralf Czaplinski, Country Manager Germany and Eastern Europe at e-motorcycle manufacturer Zero Motorcycles:
"Electric drives are finding their way into all areas of mobility, including the world of motorbikes. We want to show visitors at INTERMOT that you can counter highly debated topics such as exhaust and noise emissions not only with sensible arguments, but also with high-performance motorbikes that offer a lot of riding fun. What makes the fully electrically powered motorbikes from Zero Motorcycles so special is best experienced live, for example at INTERMOT. This is the reason why we decided to participate."
